CHICAGO OLD & NEW: Andersonville

A tantalizing combination of bakeries, food shops and restaurants, has put Andersonville on the map for food lovers everywhere. Once a neighborhood settled by Swedish immigrants, now the area reflects the neighborhood’s true cultural diversity and great taste!

We learn about the Swedish roots and landmarks of the area, as we taste our way down Clark Street. We’ll visit classic, decades-old standards like the Middle Eastern Bakery and Market and the Swedish Bakery. More recent additions to the neighborhood are ours to explore, including a boutique that specializes in olive oils and other Mediterranean finds, a great wine shop, and a Sicilian inspired bakery that sets the bar high for Italian sweets.
